About the Book: This book is the Autobiography of the author. She is a Somali Muslim, who ran from there and took Political Asylum in Netherlands. In this book she writes about her childhood in Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia and Kenya; female mutilations, her beatings, her forced marriage, about her flight to the Netherlands , her courage and her will to study and work. She became a politician. Her election to Parliament, and the murder of Theo Van Gogh, with whom she made the film Submission.
My Take: The most interesting thing for me was the story by an intellectual Muslim woman, who gave insight in the mind and society of a muslim woman.
